Townsville University Hospital trialling AI tool in ieMR for sepsis early warning

Townsville Hospital and Health Service is running a trial of a new artificial intelligence tool and natural language processing to scan Queensland’s Cerner integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) for early warning signs of sepsis in patients.

The health service is working with Clinical Excellence Queensland, eHealth Queensland and the Clinical Excellence Commission NSW to test the technology, which has also been rolled out at Westmead Hospital in Sydney.
