InterSystems signs up with BloodNet to automate ordering in TrakCare Lab

26 April 2016
By Kate McDonald

InterSystems is the latest laboratory information system (LIS) vendor to sign on to integrate with the National Blood Authority's (NBA) award-winning BloodNet ordering and inventory management system, which will allow the ordering and distribution of blood products to be automated for TrakCare Lab users.

BloodNet is a web-based system through which approved healthcare providers can order blood and blood products from suppliers such as the Australian Red Cross Blood Service via a LIS interfaced to BloodNet.

LIS interfaces enable real-time exchange of critical blood stock information, promoting efficiencies in Australia'’s $1.1 billion annual blood products supply chain and improving emergency response capabilities.
