The Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) has launched the program for its National Health Information Management Conference 2026 (HIMAA26), alongside the opening of early-bird registrations for the October event in Sydney.
Taking place from 26–28 October 2026, HIMAA26 is positioned as a premier national and international event for professionals working across health information management, digital health, data, governance and clinical transformation.
Under the theme Connect & Collaborate – Transforming Data into Better Care, the conference brings together a cross-sector audience spanning health information management, digital health, clinical care, research, analytics, artificial intelligence, governance, policy and education.
HIMAA said the program reflects the growing convergence of disciplines required to support data-enabled healthcare, with sessions designed to showcase practical innovation, research and real-world implementation across the health system.
Key focus areas include interoperability and connected care, data governance and integrity, privacy and ethical data use, analytics and AI-enabled decision support, clinical documentation and coding excellence, patient-centred digital engagement, workforce transformation, and future-focused health system innovation.
HIMAA Chief Executive Officer, Sallyanne Wissmann said, “The 2026 program highlights the importance of collaboration across sectors to improve outcomes and strengthen health systems.
“HIMAA26 reflects that meaningful improvement in care depends on how effectively we connect data, systems and people. This year’s program brings together a wide range of expertise to explore how collaboration and innovation are transforming care delivery and outcomes.”
Early-bird registrations are now open, providing access to the full three-day program, networking opportunities and engagement with national and international leaders across the sector.
