WEBINAR: Exploring the real-world value of connected healthcare: from clinical care to research and everything in between

Overview

Presented by Dedalus and facilitated by Pulse+IT podcast presenter, Dr. Louise Schaper.

HL7 has been a cornerstone of hospital information systems since the 1970s, primarily used to track a patient’s location and status within the hospital’s walls. Fifty years later, our world has transformed. We have powerful phones in our hands wherever we go, use apps that control every part of our lives, and now we have artificial intelligence that can automate and act on events that occur in real-time.With all this change, a lot has remained the same. People still get sick and must navigate a complex network of hospitals, GPs, and other care providers.Fortunately, the standards have evolved beyond point-to-point communication of the ‘70s and this has opened incredible opportunities for us to deliver care to patients across different care settings by sharing crucial patient information (with consent) to those who need it.

The key question now is: How do we make better use of the information captured during a patient’s journey to build the intelligent, responsive healthcare system that patients expect?
