WA budget: $52 million for medical imaging, $30m for Perth Kids

The WA government has allocated $25 million of the estimated $52 million required to roll out a new statewide radiology information and picture archiving and communication system (RIS-PACS) in yesterday's state budget, along with $30m for ICT for Perth Children's Hospital and a small amount to begin the replacement of its controlled drugs monitoring system.

Money has also been allocated to the replacement of PathWest's laboratory information system (LIS) and for an upgrade to the iPharmacy system used throughout the state's hospitals.
