The cofounder and president of the Saudi Health Information Management Association (SHIMA) Hussein Albishi makes a guest appearance at HIMAA 2025 in Canberra this month.
Mr Albishi appears in a fireside chat discussion about health information in Saudi Arabia with Health Information Management Association of Australia CEO Sallyanne Wissmann. The session is scheduled for Thursday October 30 at 2.30pm AEDT.
SHIMA is the leading organisation in advancing health information management practices and clinical coding in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In July, HIMAA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SHIMA, which is supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Healthcare Transformation goals under Vision 2030.
Hussein Albishi is a Certified Health Information Manager (CHIM) graduate from WA’s Curtin University of Technology. He has more than 30 years of experience in Health Information Management and technology, and served as an advisor to the Vice Minister of Health for planning and development 2010-2016 and as a senior HIM consultant for the Vision Realization Office (VRO).
He is also the co-founder of the Global Health Workforce Council established in Chicago in 2014-2016. In 2016, the International Federation for Health Information Management Associations (IFHIMA) elected Hussein, as the IFHIMA Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Region for two consecutive terms 2016-2022.
The National Health Information Management Conference takes place October 29 to October 31 in Canberra.
