Review of the safety and quality benefits of secure messaging

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) has published a review of the safety and quality benefits of secure messaging, recommending that a technical incident monitoring framework be considered to assess adherence to standards.

The review found widespread recognition of the potential benefits of secure messaging but concluded that low uptake as a result of barriers and perceived risks will continue to challenge broader adoption.
