Melbourne's Northern Health has signed a contract with clinical software vendor Cerner to roll out its electronic medical record throughout Northern Health's inpatient and subacute services.

Northern Health, which runs the 400-bed Northern Hospital at Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital and campuses at Bundoora and Craigieburn, has been developing a business plan for an EMR for several years and signed the contract with Cerner in late September.
