MEDITECH Expanse is certified and live with the capability to publish discharge summaries to My Health Record (MHR).
Now available to MEDITECH clients in Australia, clinicians can access MHR from within the patient record and securely upload discharge summaries to the national digital health record.
MEDITECH Managing Director Asia Pacific Doug Murray said the functionality was developed in alignment with the Australian Digital Health Agency’s (ADHA) standards and part of MEDITECH’s broader commitment to advancing digital health maturity and interoperability across the Australian health sector.
“It ensures that patients and their authorised clinicians have timely access to critical health information both during and after hospital care,” Mr Murray said. “This supports continuity of care, reduces duplication, and enables better-informed clinical decision-making.”
Key features of MEDITECH’s solution include integrated audit and tracking tools allowing health services to monitor the progress of discharge summary creation through to successful submission.
Worklists and audit reports also support real-time tracking of Individual Healthcare Identifiers (IHI) and Healthcare Provider Identifiers – Individual (HPI-I), ensuring patient and clinician identifiers are validated and ready for MHR transactions.
Clinicians are also provided with visual indicators that show whether a patient has a My Health Record and whether access has been granted, before launching directly into the patient’s MHR.
MEDITECH says user-friendly features are fully auditable, support clinician confidence in system use, and help embed MHR access seamlessly into the clinical workflow.
