Practice management and clinical software vendor MedicalDirector has released active ingredient prescribing capability in its Helix and Clinical 4.0 packages.

Legislation introduced in 2019 means prescriptions will now list only the active ingredient or ingredients of each medication unless the prescriber specifies that the brand name should be included as well.
