InterSystems has officially released what it calls the world's first laboratory business management system, TrakCare Lab Enterprise, differentiating it from traditional laboratory information systems (LIS) through analytical capabilities that take it beyond the three Rs of request, result and report.

InterSystems' director of product introduction, strategy and user adoption Martin Wilkinson said TrakCare Lab Enterprise was designed to help pathology services to transform from a reactive testing and results service typically supported by a traditional data and analytical management solution to a data-driven organisation capable of meeting increased expectations.
