AMA continues lobbying efforts for expanded MBS items for telehealth

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) has repeated its long-standing call for new MBS rebates for GP telehealth consultations for patients in residential aged care facilities.

It also wants new rebates for consultations provided by a patient's usual GP for after-hours services, patients with a GP management plan and patients with mobility problems, along with extending the remote telehealth items beyond Monash regions 6 and 7 to other regional areas.
