SA-based health informatics platform vendor Alcidion Group is looking to establish a reference site in Canada as part of its strategy to enter the massive North American market, and has also developed an ambitious plan to have its technology installed in 40 hospitals in total in Australia and New Zealand in the next three years.
The newly listed firm told a meeting of shareholders in Sydney yesterday that it planned to take advantage of changes to the Meaningful Use provisions in the US to establish its clinical decision support technology but would first target the Canadian market as a stepping stone to the larger prize.
