Resident management systems a resource for tracking adverse events: study

Data routinely captured in residential aged care facility electronic management systems can be used to quantify the types and rates of adverse incidents, a new study has shown.

The study found that aged care providers generally collect data on a broader range of adverse incidents than those that are mandatory under the Australian National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator program and this data has the potential to help understand wider trends in adverse incidents.
