Eight medtech start-ups have been shortlisted for the 2026 Future Health Summit Innovation Award. Now in its 13th year, the award recognises emerging businesses that are successfully integrating technology to improve the quality, safety and delivery of healthcare.

1. MediRobot Ltd. T/a PatientFirst

PatientFirst is an AI-powered referrals & clinical documentation system that digitises referrals into anonymised, standardised cases. Patients upload their referral, which is shared with suitable healthcare providers, enabling real time appointment availability.

It automatically generates clinical notes and referrals.

2. Triu – ACT (Aid, Care, Treat)

ACT is an emergency services support platform which shares personal medical information and precise geolocation from users during emergencies. Originally designed for bystanders, it now supports population health management and is engaging with the HSE for integration into emergency care pathways.

3. Evident

This clinical data intelligence platforms structures and links unstructured patient data from scans, reports, and electronic records to create unified patient profiles, allowing automated clinical trial matching. Evident is being piloting across Irish hospitals and is partnering with Cancer Trials Ireland.

4. HealthStay.io

This AI Native Middleware for Patient Referrals integrates with EHRs to automate referral intake, triage, and communication between GPs, consultants, patients, and private hospitals. It provides real-time updates through WhatsApp, email, and its AI agent, Mia.

5. Nexomic

Nexomic’s DeepOmic platform integrates multiple molecular data layers to decode disease heterogeneity and generate AI-derived biomarkers for cancer. The biomarkers can be used to select patients for clinical trials and guide personalised treatment decisions.

6. Phyxiom

Phyxiom provides a clinically validated platform for the diagnosis and treatment of asthma and COPD. The platform is already live across 15 HSE clinics.

7. MindPath

MindPath delivers ADHD and Autism assessments online. Its pre-assessment tool uses validated psychometrics and intelligent workflows to determine whether individuals should proceed to full clinical assessment.

8. LiteStream

LiteStream applies computer vision and AI to remote consultations, enabling clinicians to detect subtle clinical indicators and monitor disease progression. It works on any internet connection, expanding access to specialist care for patients in rural and underserved areas.

The award aims to showcase cutting-edge innovation and raise the profile of start-ups and entrepreneurs working in the healthcare sector. Entrants must be within three years of the date of incorporation, and projects are judged on a number of factors including originality, ease of integration into existing system, commercialisation readiness, and impact on society

All eight shortlisted companies will present a 90-second pitch video live on Day 1 of next week’s Future Health Summit. Three finalists will be invited to sit on a live panel to discuss their project on Day 2 of the conference, after which the winner will be announced.

Previous winners include Akara Robotics, Digital Gait Labs, and ExWell Medical & Mobile Medical Diagnostics.

This year’s Future Health Summit takes place at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre on 27-28 May.
