A cybersecurity and data protection masterclass is one of the featured sessions at the National Health Information Management Conference in Canberra next month (October 29-31).
The masterclass is presented by Redwood Security Director Mitch Redshaw and Health Information Management Association Australia CEO Sallyanne Wissmann.
It promises an interactive workshop designed for senior healthcare leaders who are responsible for safeguarding systems, ensuring operational continuity and protecting patient trust. The session covers data protection, regulatory duties and crisis leadership, ’empowering healthcare leaders to make confident, resilient decisions under pressure’.
Organisers say no technical background is required “just a commitment to leading with resilience and foresight to support strategic understanding, leadership decision-making and practical risk mitigation”.
The class covers real-world cyber threats like ransomware, underground data markets and social engineering through dynamic walkthroughs and features a hands-on simulation.
Details: Thursday 30 October 2025, 11am – 12:40pm (Part A) and 1:30pm – 3:00pm (Part B).
