Drug and alcohol, mental health clinicians largest viewers of My Health Record

Clinicians working in the drug and alcohol and mental health fields are the largest clinical groups viewing patients' My Health Records, while emergency department staff are highly resistant to doing so, preliminary results from one of the opt-out trials show.

The trial in the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network (NBMPHN) catchment also showed that GPs are three times more likely to be able to view a patient's hospital discharge summary on the My Health Record (MyHR) than receive it by secure messaging.
