Universal adoption of My Health Record in RACFs in a year “optimistic”: experts

A recommendation by the Royal Commission into Aged Care Safety and Quality that there be universal adoption of the My Health Record in residential aged care facilities by July 2022 is overly optimistic and unlikely to be achieved, experts say.

And while the market-leading aged care software vendors are all able to connect to the My Health Record, the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) estimates that only 10 per cent of aged care providers are registered with the system and only one per cent are actively using it, an industry webinar heard this week.
