Australian data leaders from major peak bodies feature as keynote speakers for the 2025 National Health Information Management Conference taking place in Canberra from October 29-31.
Launching the program, HIMAA announced opening keynote addresses by Dr David Hansen, CEO and Research Director of the Australian e-Health Research Centre at CSIRO, and Dr Zoran Bolevich, CEO of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Also a keynote by Elizabeth Tydd, the Australian Information Commissioner, to speak on health data privacy, trends and challenges.
“The future of healthcare funding” will be presented in a keynote by the CEO of the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) Professor Michael Pervan.
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care Chief Operating Officer Chris Leahy will speak on patient safety and quality trends.
Leadership masterclass
A leadership masterclass will be hosted by Evolve Health Digital, presented by James Foxall and James Carpenter. This a separate registration and includes one-on-one coaching as well as the interactive session.
Workforce and the evolution of the health information management profession are strong themes in this year’s event.
HIMAA recently released its profession identity statement indicating of the health information profession specialisations is digital health and health informatics. The conference program features a digital health stream concurrently to the clinical coding stream, demonstrating the breadth of interest to today’s health information management professionals.
