CCTV and the safety of aged care residents

WA’s Edith Cowan University is running a survey of the views of residents’ families and aged care facility staff about the use of CCTV in residential aged care.

The study comes as the first trial of CCTV cameras in aged care homes kicks off in two SA Health facilities in Adelaide, which is using an artificial intelligence-enabled audio-visual surveillance and monitoring system to detect falls, calls for help and one- and two-way violence.
